Inside The Bible

While our different activities vary in style to be inclusive and relevant for everyone, central to them all is our firm belief in the authority of Scripture as the necessary pattern for daily living and pathway to assurance of eternity with God. Hence, the emphasis we place on Bible teaching and the encouragement of personal Bible study.

Current Teaching

At Easter this year, we were reminded that for those to whom Jesus appeared on the day of His resurrection, there was no immediate facial recognition. Rather, they variously recognised His words and His voice, His actions and His wounds.  That is, they remembered what He had said, done and suffered.

Christlikeness - Mark's Gospel

That has led us in the following weeks to re-visit what Jesus actually said and did throughout His earthly ministry to build up a template of Christlikeness for every believer. We are doing this through Mark’s Gospel with its simple and condensed style, written especially with the pragmatic Roman constituency in mind [as compared with the religious Jews (Matthew’s Gospel) and the culturally sophisticated Greeks (Luke’s Gospel)].

Although a concise book, each chapter has much to offer and is taking us several weeks to consider. The following downloads are audio MP3s of sermons and associated summary notes for the chapters covered to date.

Downloads will be available on the site for two months. After this they will be removed and replaced by more recent files.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light
for my path. I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws. I have suffered much; preserve my life,
O Lord, according to your word. Accept,
O Lord, the willing praise of my mouth,
and teach me your laws. Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I will not forget your law. The wicked have set a snare for me,
but I have not strayed from your precepts.
Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart. My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end. PSALM 119 v105-112
