Mainly Music Leaders

Here's a brief introduction to those mums who lead Mainly Music
on the Isle of Tiree.

Ishbel Campbell

Hi! I am the group leader for mainly music and lead the music sessions with the children each week. I am a full-time mum to Innes and Martha Grace who both keep me on my toes. I am married to Derek who is a teacher at the High School here on Tiree. I studied music and am a qualified primary teacher and really enjoy working and interacting with children. I began this group out of a desire to meet and get to know other mums and dads and also as a way for the children to have a fun, music interaction with their parents. It is great fun leading this group and seeing the different relationships develop amongst adults and children.

Judith MacIntosh

Hi! I’m part of the Tiree Baptist Church ‘mainly music’ team.
I’ve lived on the beautiful island of Tiree for 11 years now, since coming to take up a teaching post in 1997. I’ve been married to Sandy, who is a fisherman, for 8 years, and we have two lovely children; Calum aged 5 and Ruth who is nearly 4. After a few years as a ‘stay-at-home’ mum, I’m now back working, this time in the Pre-5 Unit at Tiree High School. I’ve been a Christian for more than 20 years, and can’t imagine how my life would be without Jesus beside me. The ‘mainly music’ group is a new venture for our church, but I’m so glad to be involved with it; it’s a great way to get to know other families, and Ruth loves coming along and singing and playing with the other children.

Becky Wright

Hi I'm Becky Wright and I have lived on Tiree for seven years since coming on holiday and not wanting to leave! I am married to Will who is a fitness instructor amongst other things! I have a little shop called Chocolates and Charms where I sell my Jewellery and lots of other nice things. We don't have any children yet just a couple of rabbits and a hen! This is good at the moment as it means I can give myself to the children and mums while at Mainly Music without distractions, although one of my rabbits has attended before featuring as the Easter Bunny!
I love being involved with Mainly Music! I started by just helping out a few months after it began on Tiree and have gradually become part of the team. Having over 40 children on the books now is amazing and a real testament to the impact the group has had on the island. I joined in because I think its a great way for our church to be actively involved in the community. I have loved getting to know the Mums and the children and trying to share a little bit of Gods Love and Grace in whatever way we can as a team.
